Have you ever heard of the year of JUBILEE? (the basic concept was that on the year of jubilee- the 50th year, all debts would be forgiven) I don't think that would be such a bad idea to still have around... granted I am not an expert on the year of jubilee, but it seems like it might not be so bad.
